loft renovations update

so i made this floor plan at this amazing website, seriously, check it out! its free!

this is what our "loft" looks like now... i know, i was bored and i was wanting to play around on the site, but this is a fun way to document this renovation journey!

and a sad note, there hasnt been much movement on the construction thanks to the stupid rain!

but i do have windows, framed walls and doorways!

no wheelbarrows!

yesterday, the crew dug some holes for the concrete pads where the deck posts will be.

today, the concrete mixer came and i could NOT believe how easy it was, they pulled the hugemungo truck around, backed it up a little and extended the pourer dealys (yes thats the technical term)

we thought for sure we would have to wheel barrow the cement to the farthest back pads, but no, the truck was awesome. i may be easily impressed, but i thought the r/c roboticness of it all was pretty cool. the truck driver had all 6 pads poured in like 15 mins, no wheelbarrows, no mixing!

then our amazing crew smoothed them out and put the post holder bracket thingys in where they were supposed to be, leveled them out and let the hardening of the sun do the rest!

next step, 6"x6" posts and a 10'x20' deck!

new to blogging...

so i :::drool::: over some blogs i read. and with so much free time on my hands, i thought i aughta try this out... so ive been posting blogs from different FB and TN updates, and changing the date to when i should have posted it. going forward, hopefully i will post in order.

Yes Pane, Yes Gain.

the windows from the outside, imagine a deck a few feet below them starting to the north of the electric box going back 20 ft sticking out 10 feet. and a door a few feet south of the first window.

bedroom window from the inside.

Construction, Robin Williams, and Chocolate Chips.

This is PJ, he is the foreman of our construction crew. We decided he must be the foreman because he was strutting around with his hands in his pockets, supervising the crew.
Once he was confident that the crew could handle things on their own, he was off to watch Jumanji, again.

At least he works for cookies.
This is what the crew got done on day #2 (day #1 they set up and hung brackets for the ceiling beams).

Spring is on the Door.

Brown is NOT a Christmas color, but that was the color of our wreath, because it was February. Time to take it down, or better yet, replace it. Some very crafty Nesties inspired me to make this Curley Ribbon Wreath. I was inspired here: http://embellishedbayou.blogspot.com/2010/03/diy-curly-ribbon-wreath.html
